Creating a new Account
If you already have an account with Google, creating a Passport account is as simple as selecting your preferred identity provider and logging in.
Important: Your access to data depends on the email addresses you have linked to your Passport account. You may wish to make a Google account for your professional email address for Passport sign-in.
Creating a Google Account for Professional Email Address
In order to access Publisher and Explorer, you will need to create a Google Account with your institutional email address using the steps below.
NOTE: You will need to use an email that is NOT an alternate email to an already existing Google account. You have to create a new Google account using your institutional email.
Steps to create a new Google account with your institutional email:
- Go to accounts.google.com

- Click “Create account” and choose “For myself”

Click “Use my current email address instead” and enter your institutional email address
Note: if you get an error like “This email is already in use”, you will have to use another email address, request it to be whitelisted, and then restart these steps

- Follow the prompts through the rest of the account creation process
- Once the Google account has been created, use your institutional email address to log onto the portal
