Create Account

Creating a new Account

If you already have an account with Google, creating a Passport account is as simple as selecting your preferred identity provider and logging in.

Important: Your access to data depends on the email addresses you have linked to your Passport account. You may wish to make a Google account for your professional email address for Passport sign-in.

In order to access Publisher and Explorer, you will need to create a Google Account with your institutional email address using the steps below.

NOTE: You will need to use an email that is NOT an alternate email to an already existing Google account. You have to create a new Google account using your institutional email.

Steps to create a new Google account with your institutional email:

  1. Go to accounts.google.com
  1. Click “Create account” and choose “For myself”
  1. Click “Use my current email address instead” and enter your institutional email address

     Note: if you get an error like “This email is already in use”, you will have to use another email address, request it to be whitelisted, and then restart these steps
    
  1. Follow the prompts through the rest of the account creation process
  2. Once the Google account has been created, use your institutional email address to log onto the portal
